MCNC’s backbone, NCREN (North Carolina Research and Education Network), is interconnected to the Internet2 backbone, the nation’s largest and fastest coast-to-coast research and education network.

Over the Internet

Utilizing the high capacity peerings with the Internet2 Peer Exchange (I2PX), clients subscribed to MCNC’s Internet service can leverage optimized IP paths to the public cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.

Customizable Solution

MCNC’s engineers will work with you to configure the best solution for your connection to the Cloud Connect service. For example, MCNC can provide a direct Layer 2 path to public cloud providers, including AWS Direct Connect, MS ExpressRoute, or Google Partner Interconnect.
